I recently purchased the Honey Bee Stamp Lovely Layers Peony die. I love Honey Bee Stamps layering flowers. They are gorgeous and very easy to layer.
I had some yellow cardstock left on my desk from a previous card and decided that I wanted to have my peony flowers have a soft yellow glow in the center of the petals, so I cut all the layers from yellow cardstock and ink blended Distress Oxide Inks on the edges. I love the way they turned out.
I made two large peony flowers and two buds. Leaves were cut from green cardstock and then shadows were added by ink blended the base of the leaves. I arranged the flowers and leaves on a panel of white cardstock that had been cut down using a scalloped rectangle die. I had an opening at the bottom of the flowers for a sentiment and decided to cut the word "amazing." Originally I thought of of the secondary sentiments say "Have An and Birthday." But, as I thought about it, I have a sweet friend from church who is eighty-eight and a convert of a little over a year. We have been giving her discussions to help her get ready to go to the temple. She is such a woman of faith with a determination to follow the Savior. She amazes me and so I decided to give this card to her and added the secondary sentiment of "You Are" to the card, which was stamped with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed gold.
I decided to place the scalloped, focal image panel onto a top folding green cardbase. A few gold confetti sequins were scattered around the flowers and the card was done.
