I was at Hobby Lobby and saw this great leaf die on sale for less than $4 and so I snatched it up. I knew it would be perfect for a card I was making for my friends on change. Fall is such a beautiful time to reflect upon the beauty that can be found in change. The leaves turn from green to vibrant golds, oranges, and reds and are a glorious display of nature.
As we journey through life we are faced with opportunities to change. We may need to try different communication styles to effectively converse with our children, spouse, and co-workers. We may want to change what we eat and how we exercise. We may need to change to become more loving and less judgmental. Our children grow and become adults and our relationship with them changes. Our parents become infirm and we must change how we meet their needs. There can be great pain in change, but it can also bring great satisfaction and growth.
I cut the leaf background from ivory cardstock and then ink blended it is various shades of fall colors. It was adhered to a top folding ivory cardbase. Three stitched leaves were cut from the same ivory cardstock and ink blended and added to the lower left of the card with foam tape.
The sentiment from William James was created in the Silhouette Cameo software and printed with registration marks onto ivory cardstock and then cut out to be adhered to the lower right of the card with foam tape.
