This card uses Spellbinders products. I saw Yana Smakula make a Christmas card using the Christmas Bird Poinsettia die and immediately ordered it. It came a couple of days ago and I immediately started die cutting. I love the way it turned out, however, it is die cut heavy and is not something that I would use for making multiple cards.
There are four different leaves/sprigs in this set. I cut each for a different green cardstock. The poinsettia was cut from two different red cardstock, the darker one on the bottom. The cancy cane die cuts both the base and the the strips from one die. I cut it from both white and red cardstock. For this card I used the white base and added the red strips. I used the opposite for the matching envelop. I used Copic Markers to add shading to each die cut.
I die cut a rectangle using a stitched rectangle die and then dry embossed it with the lovely Holly Flourish Embossing Folder. I was adhered to a top folding A2 cardbase with dotliner adhesive.
I laid out the leaves using three of each different leaf and adhered them with liquid glue. The candy cane was adhered in place with low loft foam tape, leaving an opening over where the leaves converged. The layers of the poinsettia were adhered with liquid glue and then two small strips of foam tape were added to the back, making sure there was an open space to go over the candy cane. Both gold mirror and red cardstock were used to create the center of the flower.
I decided to heat emboss the sentiment with red hot foil on white cardstock. It was cut down with a sentiment label die and adhered at bottom of the arrangment with foam tape.
