Lacey Poinsettia Christmas Blessings

cardtheraphy51

This is the second Christmas card I've made this year. While I really like the look of this card, I will not be making it for my Christmas card. It took too long to get all the small pieced out of the lacey petals.

I began by cutting the solid base of the poinsettia from a dark red glitter cardstock. The lacey petals were then cut twice from a brighter red glitter cardstock. There are two different sizes of petals, so in all there are five layers to the poinsettias. The layers of the same size were adhered together with liquid glue. Since I was gluing glitter cardstock together the layers were held together with some reverse tweezers until they were dry. The smaller petals were adhered to the larger petals with a rolled up 1/2" Glue Dot. The flower centers were gold rhinestones I had in my stash. The leaves were cut from green glitter cardstock.

To minimize problems with mailing these cards the poinsettias were adhered directly to a top folding cardbase with liquid glue.

The word "Christmas" was cut from gold glitter cardstock and adhered in place with liquid glue. The secondary sentiment was stamped with red ink just below the die cut word.
