When I was searching for words to use for graduation cards I saw this great quote from Walt Whitman. It made me think of the Savior, who is the light of the world. If we can keep our face toward Him, then whatever difficulties and trials we face will be shadows that can fall behind us. I needed to create my monthly card for my grandson who is serving a mission for our church in Spokane, Washington and thought this would be perfect for him.
I decided to use the Lawn Fawn Sunrise Backup die and cut it from light yellow cardstock and then ink blended darker shades of yellow a gradient look. I cut the die again from yellow sticky back foam and adhered the two together by removing the backing paper. I used some of the yellow cardstock to create a side folding cardbase and adhered the sunrise die to the front with liquid glue.
The sentiment was printed on yellow cardstock and then cut with a circle die that was the right side to fit within the area of the sun on the die. The bottom half was cut off using a guillotine trimmer and adhered in place with Simon Says Stamp Big Mama Foam Tape.
