Do Small Things with Great Love

I was going through my stamps and found this wonderful sentiment from Penny Black. This is a clean and simple card. I stamped the sentiment with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed it gold. A stitched rectangle was used to cut down the message and sticky back foam was added to the back.

I went through some of the cardstock I had on hand to try and find something more masculine in design and decided on this pretty green argyle. The patterned paper was cut down with a stitched rectangle as well and then adhered to a top folding cardbase with dotliner adhesive. The sentiment panel was then adhered in place with liquid glue. As a final embellishment a small resin heart was added to the left of the word "love" and the card was done.

This card will be sent to the young people from my local church congregation who are serving a mission for our church this month. I think that all of us can have more joy in our life as we do small and simple things for those around us. There is a great quote by Elder Patrick Kearon that inspired this card, "Learning to look outward, not inward, and serve one another is so much a part of our purpose here. In fact, it is at the heart of it. The miracle of looking outward and ministering to another person in need is that in the process, we learn that we can forget ourselves and our own problems."
