Count Your Many Blessings

This is a great time of year to think of our blessings. Life isn't perfect and we all face challenges but thinking about what we have instead of what we lack can lighten our load. In my church there is a song entitled "Count Your Blessings." The first verse lyrics are: "When upon life's billows you are tempest tossed, When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost, Count your many blessings name them one by one, And it will surprise you what the Lord has done."

This card is to remind my sweet friends that in the midst of sorrow and hardship, there are so many blessings. I found this number collage in the Silhouette store and cut it three times from black cardstock and again from ivory polka dot paper. Each layer was adhered together with liquid glue.

The sentiment was created in the Silhouette software and merged together. It was printed and then cut out of ivory cardstock using registration marks. A shadow was cut from the polka dot cardstock, however, the sentiment blended too much into the busy polka dots and so a smaller shadow was cut from black cardstock and the three were adhered together with liquid glue.

A panel of black cardstock was cut using a stitched rectangle die and adhered to a top folding ivory cardbase with dotliner adhesive. The number collage was adhered in place with liquid glue. Simon Says Stamp Big Mama Foam Tape was added to the back of the sentiment, which was adhered below the number collage.
