Congrats on Your Baptism

We have a friend who decided to be baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints. What a wonderful, momentous decision. To invite the Savior into your life and promise to try to follow Him to the best you can. How wonderful the power of repentance when we fall short. We wanted to give him a congratulations card.

I don't know what Cabot's favorite color is, but what guy doesn't like blue. I pulled out the Pretty Pink Posh Triangles Stencil and five different blue inks to blend over the stencil. Once the ink was dry the largest Lawn Fawn Stitched Stackable Rectangle was used to cut down the background. It covers the entire front of an A2 cardbase. It was adhered to a side folding cardbase with dotliner adhesive.

I have several congrats dies, but they are all scripty and I wanted something more masculine. So I pulled out the Altenew Fine Alphabet Dies and aligned the letters onto my glass mat and then used a long strip of tape to hold them all together. I placed the dies onto the triangle background and cut out the word from the back ground. I ink blended some cardstock with the darkest ink used on the background for inlay into the letter openings, but didn't really like the way it looked. It was a little too flat. So I pulled out some blue mirror cardstock and cut out the letters. I also cut the letters from blue sticky back foam. I laid the letters in place to add the centers of the letters for the "a" "r" and "o" to ensure they were in the correct place. The blue foam was then adhered in place to add dimension to the word. I decided to adhered the blue inked letters with the blue mirror letters with liquid glue to add additional dimension. They were then adhered in place with liquid glue.

I really like the way the card turned out.
