My youngest granddaughter is graduating from high school this week. Truly amazing how quickly the years are flying by. I really liked the "Congrats" die that was part of Hero Arts monthly kit, but I didn't have time to order it, so I went into my Silhouette Cameo software and created something similar. I really like the way it turned out.
Emma's school colors are red and black. Her favorite color is red, so I used that as the predominant color. A quarter sheet of white cardstock was cut down with a stitched rectangle die and then embossed with the Altenew "Bunch of Balloons". It was adhered to a quarter sheet of red cardstock and then the panel was adhered to a top folding card base.
The shadow of the word "Congrats" was cut from red, along with the rectangle behind her name. The word "Congrats" was cut four times from black cardstock, adhered together with liquid glue, and then adhered to the shadow with the same adhesive. The graduation cap was cut using a silhouette cut file. It was cut from red cardstock. A black enamel dot was used for the button on the top of the cap and a black marker was used to color the tassel and add a tassel line. Because there was dimension to the sentiment, a thin strip of 3M Foam Tape was added to the top of the cap, which was adhered on a angle to the sentiment. Everything was adhered to the embossed card front with liquid glue.
