I had knee replacement surgery six weeks ago and I'm just getting back to having my leg down for longer periods of time. I'm glad to be creating again.
I wanted to create a Christmas Wreath, but I wanted it fuller than the individual dies would create, so I combined Simon Says Stamp's Berry Wreath, Spellbinders Build-A-Wreath, and Hero Arts Fancy Joy Ornament Dies to create this beautiful wreath. I am very happy with the way it turned it. It takes about an hour to create, so I won't be making them for sending out to everyone this year, just family and close friends.
I began by cutting the the Berry Wreath with green cardstock and the berries from red mirror cardstock. The die comes with two different branches and I cut them from two different green cardstock. I then cut the branches from the Spellbinders Build-A-Wreath from brown cardstock and the pine branches from a sage green cardstock.
All the die cuts were colored with Copic Markers to add some dimension.
I began assembling with the Berry Wreath circle and glued the berries in place with liquid glue. The brown branches were placed on top and adhered in place with liquid glue, just at the base of the branch so I could tuck leaves underneath. The pine branches were glued to the back of the wreath with liquid glue. The largest leaf cluster was tucked into the back of the circle and the smaller leaf cluster was tucked underneath the brown branches.
I went looking through my Christmas dies to find a sentiment that would fit in the opening of the wreath and found the Hero Arts Fancy Joy Ornaments Die, which is a circle with the word "joy" in the center. This fit perfectly behind the wreath. It was cut with red mirror cardstock and adhered at the back of the wreath with liquid glue.
The front of an A2 cardbase was dry embossed with the beautiful Spellbinders Holly & Foliage 3D Embossing folder. The was adhered to the front with liquid glue and the card was done.
