I purchased the dies for the Peony Garden Die and it came with the dies for the Prized Peony as well, so I decided to purchase the accompanying stamp set.
This image has a lot of shading and I felt it was overwhelming when stamped with black, so I thought I would try no-line coloring again and stamped it in a light gray. I am just not good with no-line coloring. I don't feel I get a sharp enough outliner to define the individual petals in the flower, so I scrapped the attempt and decided to pull out my ZIG Clean Color Marks to stamp the outline of the images and liked the way it turned out. Once the outline was dry I filled in the petals and leaves with Copic Markers and then used the coordinating die to cut out the image.
This isn't a large image so I decided to use an oval background behind the flower. I cut the oval with a pierced oval die. The flower was laid on the oval to determine where to stamp the sentiment. When the sentiment was dry the oval was dry embossed it with Stampin' Up's Subtle Embossing Folder. Simon Says Stamp Big Mama Foam Tape was added to the back of the flower and the oval to add dimension.
I decided to use a light gray cardbase, it really helps the white of the oval pop on the card. There was a lot of room underneath the oval, so I decided to add three score line to the bottom of the card front and adhered the oval in place. I just felt that there needed to be some more color on the card, so I pulled out some orange and white gingham ribbon and tied in underneath the oval and like the way that look. It really helps the orange in the peony pop on the card.
