I found out yesterday that my cousin's forty-year-old son died suddenly of a heart attack. These kind of unexpected events really make you realize how fragile life it. None of know how long we will be here on earth. It's so important that we treasure every moment and make sure the ones we love know how much they mean to us. I am grateful for faith in the plan of salvation. This life is just a moment in our eternal journey and when this life is done we are called home to a loving Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. We will see our loved ones again, and that brings great peace and hope when we lose those we love.
Easter lilies are symbols of resurrection, so I decided to use Honey Bee Stamps Lovely Layers Easter Lily dies. I cut the flower layers from white cardstock and ink blended a soft yellow in the debossed areas. The leaves were cut from two different green cardstocks. Two green inks were used to add some dimension to the leaves.
I decided to use a frame for the card front using the My Favorite Things Pierced Rectangle Frame die. Simon Says Stamp Big Momma Foam Tape was added to the back of the frame. A panel of white cardstock was cut just smaller than the frame and dry embossed with the Stampin' Up Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. It was adhered in place by removing the backing on the foam tape. More foam tape was added to the back of the framed panel, which was adhered to the front of an A2 top folding cardbase.
The flower and leaves were adhered in place with liquid glue.
The sentiment was cut from gold mirror cardstock and adhered in place with liquid glue and the card was done.
