My sister who is three years younger than me was born in December. In anticipation of not having my craft room setup by that time I decided to make her card now. Both of us love the color red.
I love this flower stamp from Altenew. It has gorgeous stately flowers that are easy to color. I stamped the image onto white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored it with Copic Markers. I then stamped it again with Versa Fine Clair Nocturne Ink for a darker, crisper outline and then cut it out using the coordinating die. The die was used to cut out sticky back foam, which was added to the back for dimension.
I had some leftover striped paper from previous card and decided to add a strip to the right of the top folding cardbase with dotliner adhesive To give the edge a more finished look I pulled out a strip of gold mirror cardstock and adhered it with liquid glue. I had previously cut several of these strips using the Simon Says Stamp Strip 1 die and keep them on hand to use when needed.
The flower image was laid on the card front to determine where to stamp the sentiment and then adhered in place with liquid glue.
The final embellishment was to add Ranger Copper Pearl Liquid Pearls to the center of the flower.
