A couple of things inspired this card. First I saw a YouTube video by Jill Foster using Arteza Markers to watercolor some of Penny Black's easy brushstroke stamps on Bristol Smooth Cardstock. The second inspiration was a card on Pinterest (https://www.pinterest.com/pin/473229873350654183/) that took a pretty watercolored image and stamped it over a script circle.
I went through my Penny Black easy brushstroke stamps and most of mine are pretty large and wouldn't fit into a circle, so I decided to use an oval instead.
I took a quarter sheet of Bristol Smooth Cardstock and stamped the image multiple times using the Arteza Real Brush Markers, spritzing the colors with water before stamping. I loved the way it turned out. Jill Foster was right, they stamp beautifully on Bristol Smooth.
I then took a quarter sheet of Office Depot Full Sheet Shipping Labels and cut out an oval from the center placed it onto the center of the watercolored lilacs panel. I took some Distress Tumbled Glass and an ink blending brush and lightly blended the oval opening. I then used My Favorite Things Romantic Script Background Stamp and stamped it over the oval and the lilacs with Simon Says Stamp London Fog. It turned out so soft and lovely.
I removed the oval mask and cut down the panel with a stitched rectangle die and added Darice Sticky Back Foam to the back of the panel for dimension. I stamped a small sentiment strip onto black cardstock and heat embossed it white. Using a Simon Says Stamp Sentiment Label I cut it into a thin strip and added Simon Says Stamp Big Mama Foam Tape to the back and adhered it onto the card front. I decided to add some white twine underneath the sentiment and wrapped around the card three times, tying it into a bow. The focal image panel was then adhered to a top folding black cardbase and the card was done.
