I love making cards and I make a lot of them, but I have more than I can use. I called one of our local assisted living centers and asked them if they could use some birthday cards. They said that would love them, they give cards to each of their residents on their birthday. So I went to work creating some cards for seniors.
I love creating cards with flowers and I have a lot of flower stamps. I think all the cards I created for the assisting living center use Altenew flowers. They have some gorgeous images and I pulled out layering stamps because I could stamp in multiple colors at one time to get more cards from each image. This card uses the Vintage Garden stamp set.
When you are creating cards your flowers can be any color you want them, but I try to keep them realistic to nature. This first card uses yellow ink. I first stamped it with black ink for the outline layer and then stamped the two colored layers. It was okay, but I wanted to add a little more visual interest, so I stamped the outline again with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed it gold. It turned out lovely.
The image was die cut with the coordinating die. The die was also used to cut out sticky back foam and the two were adhered together by removing the backing paper from the foam before removing it from the larger panel.
A panel of white cardstock was die cut using a stitched rectangle and then dry embossed. It was adhered to a side folding cardbase with liquid glue. The flower bouquet was laid on the card front to determine where to add the extra leaves, which were adhered with liquid glue. The flower bouquet was then adhered with liquid glue.
The sentiment was stamped onto black cardstock with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed white. It was cut down using a Simon Says Stamp Sentiment Label. It was adhered directly to the card front with liquid glue. Nuvo Crystal Drops in Bright Gold were added to the center of the flowers.
