Take a Little Time to Coast

When I am creating a masculine birthday card I don't want to have a pretty flower stamp, which I have a lot of, instead I look for images that are more of a nature scene or graphic images like balloons, cupcakes, etc. For this card I pulled out Gina K. Designs Time to Coast.

When we lives in Washington state we loved to go camping by the water. The west coast is dotted with old lighthouses and we loved to visit them. Maybe that's why I really like this stamp set. It reminds me of all those wonderful trips on the west coast.

I didn't want to use a black ink, so I pulled out the Altenew Dark Night to stamp the image. I then added some 1" Post-it Tape to create the edge between water and sky and ink blended with some lighter blue inks. I decided to add a little pop of red to colored the roof of the house. The image was then cut down using a stitched rectangle, leaving enough room at the bottom to stamp the sentiment.

I wanted to add some visual interest behind the image and dry embossed the front of a side folding A2 cardbase with the Stampin' Up Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder. It reminds me of the rocks and pebbles around the water. The focal image rectangle was adhered using Darice Sticky Back Foam.
