Striped Tall Candles - A Big Birthday Wish

I knew I wanted to created a blue masculine card and started out by cutting down a quarter sheet of Blue Denim Cardstock with a stitched rectangle die. I then cut an arch from the center. This die creates stitched on both the positive and negative die cuts.

The size of the arch was perfect for these tall candles from My Favorite Things. I went through my patterned paper and found this great rainbow colored strips and cut five candles. The wicks were cut from white cardstock and the flames from gold glitter cardstock. They were adhered together with liquid glue.

The sentiment was stamped at the bottom of the arch with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed gold.

The candles were adhered to the inside of the bottom of the arch with liquid glue. Thin strips of foam tape were added to the back of the candles and flames, as well as the back of the blue arched panel. The panel and candles were adhered to a top folding cardbase by removing the backing paper from the foam tape and adding a little liquid glue for wiggle room when adhering in place.
