This is the second image in Simon Says Stamp Spring Bouquets. I had used the image before on a mini slimline card and wanted to see how it would look on a regular A2 card.
I placed the image on an angle and stamped it on Strathmore Bristol Smooth Cardstock with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. This time I pulled our my Karin Brush Marker Pros to color the image. I wanted a soft peach color for the flower and used only a small amount of color and blended it out with a lot of water.
I wanted to try cutting only one edge of the flower bouquet. This took a little bit of strategic placement on the cutting plates. I eventually had to use the smaller plates from the Sizzix Side Kick to only cut the bottom edge of the bouquet. I cut a little too much of the lower left corner, but I think it turned out okay in the end. Sticky back foam was added to the panel for dimension. I had used some woodgrain cardstock on the previous card and wanted to use it for this card as well. I felt that a darker woodgrain really make the soft peach colors in the flower stamp out. The woodgrain was cut using a stitched rectangle die that would cover the front on an A2 cardbase. The same die was used on the flower bouquet so the stitched edges were consistent between the two layers.
I debated on whether or not to place the sentiment in the opening in the upper left or the bottom right and eventually settled on the bottom right. It was stamped with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed white. A few peachy orange sequins were scattered around the flowers and the card was done.
