I decided to use this image again, this time watercoloring it with ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Markers.
I stamped the image on Bristol Smooth Cardstock with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed it gold. Heat embossing makes watercoloring so much easier because it creates little wells for each petal and leaf. You don't have to wait for an adjoining petal to be dry before color the one next to it.
When the image was colored and dry it cut out using the coordinating die. The same die was used to cut out some sticky back foam tape and the two were adhered together by removing the backing paper on the foam.
I still had the sage green and gold striped cardstocks from some previous cards I made sitting on my desk and decided to use them on this card as well. I cut a rectangle of the green cardstock with a stitched rectangle and did some on the edge die cutting to make it narrower. I took the gold striped cardstock and added a narrow strip to the right of a top folding cardbase and added the sage rectangle to the left. To give a finished look to the seam I added a strip of gold mirror cardstock were the two cardstocks met. (I have these strips of gold in a protective sleeve so I have some on hand anytime I want to add a little bit of gold accent. They were cut using the smallest Simon Says Stamp Strip die.)
The floral image was adhered in place with liquid glue. The sentiment was another gold foil strip I had in my sentiments pile. When I am foiling sentiment I like to do extra so I have some on hand to quickly use on a card. The sentiment was adhered over the floral image by adding foam tape to either side of the stem.
