Red Sulfur Cosmos Happy Birthday

I recently purchased the Altenew Craft-a-Flower Sulfur Cosmos dies. They make a beautiful card.
I had purchased some pretty black and white paper while I was in Utah and thought it would make a lovely background for some red flowers.
I started with colored cardstock and ink blended with darker colors to add depth and shading. I think ink blended makes a huge difference with layered dies. Each layer was adhered together with liquid glue.
The black and white paper was cut down with a scalloped rectangle die and adhered to a top folding white cardbase. The flowers and leaves were then adhered with a combination of liquid glue and foam tape.
I couldn't decide if I wanted to use red or yellow for the main sentiment. In the end I adhered the two together, offsetting the red behind the yellow, which was ink blended at the bottom for an ombre look. The secondary sentiment was stamped with VersaMark Ink on a scrape of red cardstock and heat embossed gold. It was cut using a label die. Two thin strips of leftover red cardstock was added to the back for a little depth.
