I love layering flowers. My favorites are from Honey Bee Stamps, but recently I saw Tina Smith using this beautiful poppy die from PaperTrey Ink. It is a smaller poppy flower than some of my other dies and I decided to give it a try. It is very easy to assemble and as you can see you have a beautiful flower when done.
I cut all the flower layers from red cardstock. To deepen the shadows I used Altenew's Grapevine Ink. I used a mini blending brush, but also one of Waffle Flower's detail blending brushes to add the veining in the flower petals.
The stems, leaves, and bud were cut from green cardstock and then ink blended with Altenew's Moss ink.
The flower centers on poppies are black, so they were cut from black cardstock. Ebony Black Nuvo Crystal Drops were added to the stamen.
A panel of white cardstock was cut using the Gina Mamrie Designs Chain Rectangle. I love the detail added with the small circle cutouts. I was adhered to a quarter sheet of black cardstock with liquid glue and then adhered to a top folding white cardbase.
For this card I used a larger flower and two smaller flowers, along with a bud. They were arranged the way I liked them and picked up with Glad Press 'n Seal to hold the arrangement in place.
The sentiment was stamped with black ink in the opening on the lower left of the white panel. Foam tape was added to the back of the flowers and liquid glue was used on the stems and leaves. Then you simply have to turn over the Press 'n Seal and place the arrangement on the card where you like it.
