I had the panels of mirror cardstock that had been used to create the confetti for my previous card. Since mirror cardstock is expensive they needed to be used. I had the My Favorite Things Happy Cake die sitting on my desk and thought it would look great on the confetti background.
It was first cut from Gina K. Designs Kraft cardstock and again using Sunny Studio's Surprice Party cardstock pack. I traced around the die to create a backing for the cake and cut it down just smaller than die with scissors. The elements of the cake were adhered to the backer. I thin opening was cut in the top of the take to insert the candle, which was cut using the My Favorite Things Cupcakes and Sprinkles Die.
Red sticky back foam was traced and fussy cut to fit behind the cake and candle and it was adhered to the top of the confetti background.
The sentiment was cut from gold mirror cardstock and from red sticky back foam. They were adhered together by removing the backing paper on the foam and then adhered below the cake with liquid glue.
