Red and Blue Shaker Balloons – Hooray It’s Your Day

Often times when I am needed to create birthday cards I will go through my dies and pulle a stack to used to create some cards. I had sitting on my desk this shaker balloon die from My Favorite Things. Maybe it's because the 4th of July is just around the corner but I decided to create a red and blue shaker balloon and adhere them to a white cardbase.

I found that they die for the acetate is too small, so I traced the shaker balloon die and fussy cut the acetate to be adhered behind it with dotliner adhesive. Foam strips were used on the frame of the balloons. Backing paper for the balloons was traced, fussy cut, and dry embossed. The shaker beads were added to the balloons and the backer was adhered with liquid glue. Gold and cream baker's twine was added as the string of the balloons.

A quarter sheet of white cardstock was embossed with the same folder as behind the balloons. The balloons were adhered in place with lqiuid glue and the strings were pulled to the back of the panel and adhered in place with Scotch Tape. The panel was adhered to a top folding cardbase with liquid glue.

The sentiment was cut from some confetti paper, the shadows from blue and red. Each layer was adhered together with liquid glue. It was adhered below the balloons with the same glue.

The secondary greeting was stamped on a scrap of blue cardstock with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed white. It was cut into a label with a die. Two small strips of cardstock was added to the back to add the same dimension as the die cut sentiment. It was adhered in place with liquid glue.

I decided the card needed something else so I pulled out some red, blue, and gold mirror cardstock and using the Your Next Stamp Confetti Die Panel created some streams and confetti that was scattered around the balloons.
