I love making cards and I make a lot of them, but I have more than I can use. I called one of our local assisted living centers and asked them if they could use some birthday cards. They said that would love them, they give cards to each of their residents on their birthday. So I went to work creating some cards for seniors.
I began by ink blending a panel of cardstock with rainbow oxide inks and cut the sentiment from it. The sentiment was also cut from sticky back foam. The two were adhered together.
The card Wish word was cut from the rainbow cardstock. I decided to add pull out some black and white patterned paper and add a strip to the left of the card, leaving enough room for the word die. The additional element I added to the card was to pull out Elizabeth Craft's Birthday Candles and cut them from leftover rainbow cardstock. Both the sentiment and candles were cut from sticky back foam and then adhered together by removing the backing paper. It is easy to align these elements if you leave the cut outs in the sheet of the foam and removed the backing paper from the die cut image or letter and adhere them in place before removing them from the foam sheet.
The die cut rainbow sentiment and candles were adhered in place using liquid blue. I cut the flames for the "i" in wish and the candles again from gold glitter cardstock and adhered them in place with liquid glue. I decided to add a thin strip of the glitter cardstock next to the black and white paper. I also decided to stamp the word "big" under the word wish.
