I liked the rainbow ink blending so much on my previous card that decided to do it on these candle cutouts.
The candles were cut from white cardstock and then each candle was blended with a two ink color blend. The flames on the candles were colored with Copic Markers. In this die there is a solid candle die cut. I decided to cut five of them from gold glitter cardstock and adhered the ink blended candles on top with liquid glue. Since you are gluing to a very rough surface, a couple of stamping blocks were placed on the candles until the glue had dried.
A long time ago I experimented with using regular dies for hot foiling. This card uses the Your Next Stamp Confetti Panel and was hot foiled with gold. Once the foiling had been completed it was cut down with a stitched rectangle die. I have a lot of these backgrounds in a Ziploc bag and pulled this one out to use as the background to the candles. I really like the way it looks.
The sentiment had also been hot foiled previously. It uses the negative foil leftover from gold foiling this large sentiment. When I foil I create a lot of sentiments at once and then keep them in a Ziploc back to pull out when needed.
Simon Says Stamp Big Mamma Foam tape was adhered to the back of the candles and sentiment and they were adhered to the background rectangle by removing the backing paper, add a little liquid glue for wiggle time, and placing them on the card where they looked good to me.
The panel was adhered to a top folding cardbase with foam tape as well.
