Purple Peony Happy Birthday

One of my sister's favorite colors is purple. Her birthday was coming up and so I the Stampin' Up Prized Peony and it with a light grey, since it has a lot of shading details in the stamp design. I colored it with Copic Markers and just wasn't happy with the result. Since I still had the stamp in my MISTI I stamped it again with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed it gold. Because of the detailed shadows in the stamp the image almost more gold than purple. I liked it, but decided to do something else for my sister.

To finish off the card I die cut the image using the coordinating die. To add some love detail behind the image I pulled out the Pink Fresh Studio Braided Oval and cut it from white cardstock and adhered the peony flowers with Darice Sticky Back Foam to give it some dimension.

Since the die had some lovely cutout I decided to use a dark purple cardstock for the cardbase and adhered the braided oval to the center of the card with liquid glue.

The sentiment was stamped with VersaMark Ink onto a scrap of the dark purple cardstock and heat embossed gold. It was cut into the flag sentiment strip using a Pink & Main Sentiment Strip Die and adhered in place with both liquid glue and foam tape.

The final embellishment was to add some Pretty Pink Posh Enchanted Garden Sequins and to add some gold seed beads to the center of the sequins. I really liked the way it turned out.
