Periwinkle Statement Flower

We have a young friend who recently got married. We were unable to attend his reception, but we wanted to send a card of congratulations with a gift. Their colors were periwinkle and sage. I'm not sure if this type of flower comes in a blue/purple. But, that's the beautiful of cardmaking, you can make it anything you want.

I stamped the image first with Simon Says Stamp Fog Ink, since embossing powder can ruin your Copic Marker tips. If you leave the stamp in your MISTI you can stamp it again with VersaMark Ink and heat emboss it after the coloring is complete. The coordinating die was used to cut out the image. It was used again to cut out sticky back foam, which was trimmed down with scissors and adhered to the back of the image.

I pulled out the Sizzix Celebrate sentiment dies and cut the "congrats" from gold mirror cardstock. It was also cut from sticky back foam, but the letters "con" were cut away because they would be resting on the flower.

The front of a top folding A2 cardbase was dry embossed with the Cuttlebug Oxford Embossing Folder. The flower and sentiment were adhered in place with liquid glue.
