I've used this cute cupcake die that allows you to pull out the cupcake and reveal a stamped sentiment. I wanted to use it again and create a masculine birthday card.
For assembling the cupcake I recommend you watch Tina's video. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AN4E8jsVcHI) I first cut the cupcake from white cardstock and the frosting from a polka dot patterned paper. I also cut the candles from both navy and light blue cardstock and the flame from gold glitter cardstock and adhered the layers together, sandwiching the bottom of the candle to the top of the cupcake. The frosting was then adhered at the top of the cupcake and over the bottom of the candle. I stamped the word "pull" just under the frosting with Gina K. Designs Sea Glass Ink so that it wouldn't be too intrusive. I stamped a sentiment from My Favorite Things Sugar Coated Sentiment with Gina K. Designs Blue Denim ink on the body of the cupcake.
To assemble the cupcake liner I cut it twice from some striped patterned paper and again from white cardstock. On the die cut striped liner I folded down the scored side and bottom edge. On the second die cut I cut the folded edges off with a scissor and adhered the two together with liquid glue. Cutting off the extra scored lines keeps the liner from being too bulky.
For decorations on the cupcake I cut the swirl from navy cardstock and adhered it to the cupcake liner. Since this is such a simple design and rectangle of light blue cardstock was cut down with a stitched rectangle and then dry embossed with the Cuttlebug Happy Birthday Embossing Folder. Darice Sticky Back Foam was added to the back to add dimension. The embossed panel was adhered to a top folding white cardbase with liquid glue. The cupcake was adhered to the panel with liquid glue and the card was done.
