Pale Pink Layered Daisies Birthday Wishes

I had this die from Simon Says Stamp laying on my desk and decided to create some pale pink daisies.

The die has two layers of the daisies, but I wanted them to be a little fuller so I cut two of the back petals and one of the front and adhered them together rotating a little so all the petals could be seen. I really liked the way it turned out.

I used a pale pink ink and my blending brushes to add shading to the base of the petals, fading to white on the ends. I used a detailed blending brush for the center of the flowers. The stems were also ink blended using both a regular blending brush and a detailed brush to add shading.

A rectangle of white cardstock was cut using a scalloped rectangle die. To add visual interest behind the flowers a pale turquoise ink was used to add some bricks in the center of the panel, fading out at the edges.

I decided to add some butterflies. I've had this Martha Stewart punch for many years and really like the size of the butterflies as accents on a card. At first they were ink blended with pink in the center and yellow on the tips, but I didn't like the way that looked, so I punched them again and only added pink at the centers. I liked this much better for the soft look I was trying to achieve.

The flower peals were adhered to the stems with liquid glue. A small square of low loft foam tape was added to the back of the flower and then they stems and flowers were adhered to the scalloped rectangle by removing the backing paper on the foam and liquid glue for the stems.

The butterflies were adhered with liquid glue at the center of the butterfly. Small strips of foam tape was added behind the wings on the largest butterfly for dimension.

At the last minute I decided to add some gold embossing to the center of the flowers and butterflies. I used a VersaMark Pen and then embossed.

I had previously hot foiled the sentiment and pulled it from my stash and adhered it with foam tape.
