My crafting friend wanted to know a Copic blend that would give a beautiful deep purple. I had this combination in my swatch file, but I hadn't used it before and decided to try it out. I love the deep, rich color of the camellias.
I still have the Altenew Paint-a-Flower Camellia sitting on my desk top from a previous card in which I stamped it once in the center of the panel. This time I decided to stamp it multiple times to cover most of an A2 card front. All-in-all I stamped it four times, the last just adding some berries and a leaf in upper center of the panel.
Once the color was complete I really liked it, but the colors are so rich and dark that the white space seemed to bright, so I pulled out my new My Favorite Things Romantic Script Background and stamped the card front with Simon Says Stamp Fog ink. I love the way it add soft visual interest to the card. Once all the stamping and coloring was complete I cut down the image using a stitched rectangle. I decided to add a mat of black behind the image to help it pop a little on the side folding cardbase. It was adhered with dotliner adhesive.
I had left an open area in the bottom right of the panel for a sentiment. I played around with several options. Stamping directly onto the panel, a small "Happy Birthday" sentiment strip and this pretty sentiment from Winnie and Walter, which won out. It was stamped on black cardstock and heat embossed white, then cut into a strip using a Simon Says Stamp Sentiment Label. Simon Says Stamp Big Mama Foam Tape was used to adhere it to the card.
The final embellishment was to add Ranger Glossy Accents to the berries in the image.
