Orange Coneflower Birthday Wishes

I had this half sheet of embossed orange cardstock sitting on my desk leftover from a previous card and needed to put it to use. This time I pulled out the beautiful coneflower dies from Honey Bee Stamps.

I cut all the layers with scraps of white cardstock and ink blended them the trio of orange inks from Simon Says Stamp. I liked starting with white because you can have more control of the different depths of colors on the layers. The center of the coneflower was ink blended with VersaFine Clair Pinecone ink, which is really rich dark chocolate. The layers were adhered together with liquid glue. For the little indents in the flower center I used Dark Walnut Crystal Drops. It add some nice visual texture. The leaves were ink blended with two Gina K. Designs green inks.

I decided to use an ivory cardbase and emboss it with the same folder used on the half sheet of orange. The orange panel was adhered in place with low loft foam tape and the flower and leaves were adhered to the panel with liquid glue and a little foam tape on the center of the flower that hung over the edge.

The sentient was cut two times from heavy weight white cardstock and once from brushed gold. The layers were adhered together with liquid glue and then adhered to the front of the card above the flower. The secondary greeting was stamped on a scrap of orange cardstock with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed gold. It was cut down with a sentiment label die and adhered in place with low loft foam tape.
