Negative Blue Strip Big Birthday Wishes

Updated: Mar 10, 2021

From my previous card I had the negative space leftover after having cut the sentiment. It's fun using both negative and positive die cuts, you get two card from one background.

As described in the previous card I cut down strips of blue cardstock using the Simon Says Stamp Strips 2 Die. I covered a quarter sheet of typing paper with dotliner adhesive and added the strips on an angle to cover the sheet. I then die cut the sentiment from the strips background.

When I had removed the letters for the previous card I made sure to keep all the inner portions for the "b" "d" "r" letters. I cut down the striped panel using a stitched rectangle. A top folding cardbase was dry embossed with the Cuttlebug Oxford Embossing Folder, which gives visual interest to the open letters. Strips of foam tape was added to the back of the panel and to the inner portions of the letters. I removed all the backing paper and adhered the rectangle in place. I used tweezers to the the inner portions of the letters and the card was done.
