When I was searching for images of water lilies I saw a gorgeous purple with darker color on the tips of the petals. I decided to try and recreate that beautiful flower on this card.
I cut all the layers of the flower and bud from pale purple cardstock I had in my stash. I used two different purple inks from Gina K. Designs to ink blend the tips of the petals. The layers on the large flower were adhered together with a combination of low loft foam tape and liquid glue. The bud layers were adhered together with liquid glue. The flower center was cut from two different shades of yellow and shading was added with Copic Markers.
The lily pad has some lovely details, which simply ink blended on my previous card just didn't highlight those details. For this card I pulled out a green Copic Marker and added color to the detail lines on the pad. The center of the pad was ink blended with Asparagus Ink.
I had received a freebee from Honey Bee Stamps on my last order that had a gorgeous ombre background paper that I decided to use on this card. A rectangle was cut using an A2 rectangle die and adhered to a side folding cardbase with dotliner adhesive. The flower, pad, and bud were adhered in place with liquid glue.
The sentiment was cut from gold mirror cardstock and an additional three times from leftover purple cardstock and adhered together with liquid glue. A scrap of the purple was ink blended with the same colors on the flower and a secondary greeting was stamped with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed gold.
I love the way this card turned out.
