Lovely Layers Pink Water Lilly Happy Birthday

I finally got around to make a card using Honey Bee Stamps Lovely Layers Water Lily. When I searched online to see images of these flower a pale pink version caught my eye.

I cut all the layers of the flower and bud from pale pink cardstock and then added pink ink to the base of the petals. For the flower I added low loft foam tape behind three of the layers for additional dimension, the rest were adhered with liquid glue. The four layers on the bud were adhered together with liquid glue.

Originally I used the pale pink cardstock and added a little ink blending to the bottom. The panel was cut down to be approximately 4 x 5.25" The flower, lily pad, and but were adhered in place with liquid glue.

The sentiment is a hot foil strip that I keep on hand. It was adhered with a little foam tape on the bottom right of the card.

After the card was assembled, I just didn't like the background. So I carefully removed the flowers and lily pad with Un-Do. A panel of the light glue cardstock was cut using an A2 rectangle die and ink blended with darker Distress Oxide Inks. I liked this background much better. The flowers, lily pad, and bud were re-adhered with liquid glue.
