I pulled out my alcohol inks the other day and made a lot of background. I always love the vibrancy of these inks. I am frugal where I can be and don't use the expensive Yupo Paper, instead I use the backside of Kirkland's Glossy Photo Paper, it works wonderfully. I am not going to list the exact colors of alcohol inks I used, because I don't want to discourage you from using what you have. It doesn't matter what purple or blue or green you use. The only drawback about creating these backgrounds is that they are so beautiful you don't want to cover them up. I've tried to use them in unique ways.
For this first card I used purple and pink alcohol inks, along with the Gilded Alloy Mixative. Because I used gold in the background I decided to use gold mirror cardstock. I cut down the background using the Memory Box Matinee Rectangle Die.
I went through my dies and picked out Altenew's Leafy Garland and cut it from gold mirror cardstock. I also cut the sentiment from this same cardstock. For the sentiment, I cut it again from purple sticky back foam and adhered the two together to add dimension I adhered the garland to the top of the panel and the sentiment at the bottom center with liquid glue. The garland was a little too overwhelming, so I took some mauve mirror cardstock and cut the garland again, I then fussy cut the flowers in the garland and adhered them to the gold garland and liked the way that looked much better. The final embellishment was to cut gold butterflies using Martha Stewart's Butterfly Trio Punch and scatter them on the card.
The panel was then adhered to a side folding A2 cardbase.
