Layered Presents Happy Birthday

The Layered Presents Pretty Pink Posh Stencil was the hardest for me to create. Mainly because I didn't have any glitter paste to use for the ribbons. I tried using stickles and they just looked like blobs. I tried adding VersaMark Ink and heat embossing gold, but I didn't wait for the other ink to dry and it was everywhere. I finally decided to use my Delicatta Golden Glitz Ink for the ribbons and had a successful outcome.

I created two background because I wanted to try using them with both a portrait and landscape card. I like the way both of them turned out. I still think it would be better with glitter paste, and I've ordered some and will have to give it a try in the future.

To help define the ribbons and bows better I pulled out some gold rhinestone to add to the centers.

On the landscape card the background was cut down with a Stitched Rectangle Die and adhered to a side folding cardbase with Simon Says Stamp Big Mama Foam Tape. For the sentiment I used the big Waffle Flower Happy Birthday Stamp and matching die. Simon Says Stamp Big Mama Foam Tape was added to the back for a little dimension. I tried stamping it with a turquoise ink, but didn't feel that it stood out enough, it blended too much into the background. So, I stamped it again with black ink and adhered it over the top of the previous sentiment die cut.

On the portrait card the background was cut down using a My Favorite Things Stitched Tag Corner Rectangle. It was adhered directly to a white top folding cardbase. I used a guillotine cutter to angle the cardbase to match the tagged corners of the present background.

The sentiment was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto some white cardstock and colored with Copic Markers. It was cut down using a smaller stitched tag corner die. Darice Sticky Back Foam was used to cut another rectangle to add behind the sentiment, which was adhered in the center of the card with liquid glue.

As in the previous card, gold rhinestones were added to the center of the bows.

For as many issues that I had creating these cards, I really like the way they turned out.
