For this card I used the Pretty Pink Posh Layered Cupcakes Stencil. I decided to use pinks and purples since they go together so well.
Once the ink was dry the image was cut down using a stitched rectangle die and adhered to a top folding white cardbase with dotliner adhesive.
It was cute, but I wanted to add more visual interest to the card, so I pulled out the My Favorite Things Cupcakes and Sprinkles Die. I used the same inks I had used for the stenciling to color some white cardstock to die cut the cupcake base and frosting. The two were adhered together by adding a thin line of liquid glue at the top of the cupcake liner and adhering the frosting topper in place. I decided to accent the lines in the cupcake liner with Copic Markers.
When I went to the place the cupcake on the stenciled rectangle it got lost in the busy background, so I clued it onto some white cardstock and fussy cut around it. That looked better, but it still got a little lost, so I used the darkest purple ink to ink blend some white cardstock and adhered to white matted cupcake in place with liquid glue and cut around it with scissors. This was much better and adding some foam tape behind the image let it stand out even more.
For the sentiment I ink blended white cardstock with the darkest purple ink and cut the background to the word "celebrate" which was cut from white cardstock. The two were adhered together with liquid glue. Foam tape was added to the back for dimension. Both the cupcake and sentiment was adhered in place by removing the backing paper on the foam tape. Ranger Crystal Stickles was added to the sprinkles on the cupcake, the larger elements on some of the cupcakes, and the white celebrate word, adding some sparking and shine.
