I liked the results of the previous card I made so much that I decided to create a similar card using pinks and purples for a more feminine version.
This time I stamped My Favorite Things Romantic script Background onto a panel of watercolor paper than was cut down using an A2 stitched rectangle die. It was stamped with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with Hero Arts Ultra Fine Embossing Powder.
I used a watercolor brush to add water where I wanted the color. I stamped the Distress Inks I had selected onto my word surface, but wasn't getting the vibrancy I wanted, so I smooshed them directly to the water color paper and added additional water to help them move and blend. I forget to use my anti-static pad and so there were a few placed were there was some excess powder, which left patched were the watercolor could penetrate the cardstock. I got around this issue by selecting a sentiment that cover those areas of the background.
This time I cut the sentiment from Neenah Classic Crest 110# cardstock and again from Darice Sticky Back Foam and they were adhered together by removing the protective paper on the foam and placing the die on top. The sentiment was then adhered to the front of the watercolor panel with liquid glue. The panel was then adhered to a top folding A2 cardbase. I decided to add a secondary sentiment, which was stamped on a scrap of black cardstock and heat embossed white. It was adhered overlapping part of the strip on the die cut sentiment and the rest to the watercolor panel with a thin piece of Simon Says Stamp Big mama Foam Tape.
