I was cleaning my desktop and lifted my glass mat to clean underneath it an found this rectangle of plaid paper. I had to put it to use. I decided to keep it simple.
I cut down the patterned paper with a stitched rectangle that would allow a border when adhered to a navy blue cardbase. It was adhered in placed with dotliner adhesive.
I went to my scrap bin and found the same navy cardstock and cut four "It's your day!" squares and adhered them together with liquid glue. I found a scrap of green cardstock that matched the plaid and cut it down to fit behind the die cut sentiment and adhered it with liquid glue. I could have left it there, it looked great on the plaid background. I decided to add some balloon and pulled out Simon Says Stamp Balloon Bouquet. I liked this die because I could have a navy outline and green balloons. There were adhered in place with liquid glue and the sentiment rectangle was then adhered with the same glue. I added glossy accents to the balloon and decided to also add it to the sentiment as well. If I had to do this card again I wouldn't add the glossy accents to the sentiment, it makes it a little hard to read.
A quick and easy masculine birthday card.
