Hooray You Did It!

We have nine high school graduates in our ward at church this year. I like to send out cards to these young people acknowledging this accomplishment and wishing them well in their future endeavors. All of them attend Richland Washington High School whose colors are green and gold. I knew I was going to need to create some cards and when I saw the new Simon Says Stamp Class Act Stamp and Die I immediately purchased it to create the cards.

I originally thought I would just use the dies for the card, but I decided I wanted the additional details the stamp gave to the image. I cut the cap and gown from a green cardstock I had on hand and then stamped it using Altenew Grass Field Ink. I also used a Copic marker to add some shading to the folds in the gown and the to the cap as well. Ranger Gold Stickles were used on the cap tassel. The cap and gown were also cut from green sticky back foam and added to the back of the images to give dimension.

At first I planned to use the Your Next Stamp Confetti Panel as a stencil on some white cardstock using Distress Oxide Mustard Seed Ink, but I didn't like the result. However, I really liked how the golden yellow ink looked when blended on the panel, so that is what I decided to do to the entire panel. To had some sparkle and even more gold to the card, gold glitter cardstock was cut to fit behind the panel and adhered using Elmer's Craft Bond Spray Adhesive. The panel was adhered to a top folding white cardbase using liquid glue.

I picked the "hooray you did it" sentiment and stamped it on some white cardstock and then cut it using an Ellen Hutson Essential Square Die. I love these dies, it cuts the square, but it also cuts a thin border. I cut the square from gold glitter cardstock as well. I cut a slightly larger square with a Tonic Studio die and glued the glitter border and the sentiment square in place with liquid glue. The diploma stamp was also stamped on white and cut using the coordinating die. It was adhered on the sentiment square at an angle with liquid glue.

The cap, gown, and sentiment were adhered to the card front with liquid glue and the card was done.
