Hidden Message Sweet Wishes Cupcake

This card uses the Spellbinders Party Cupcake Pocket die set the way it was intended, with a hidden message that is revealed with the cupcake is pulled from the wrapper.

The cupcake wrappers was cut from orange and ivory chevron paper I had in my stash and ran across the other day when I was cleaning out some drawers and getting rid of paper that I didn't think I would need.

The frosting and sentiment were cut from a dark brown cardstock. The sentiment was cut four times and stacked together with liquid glue. The cupcake was cut from ivory cardstock and the edges were lightly ink blended with a light tan ink. The edges of the frosting were ink blended with a dark brown ink. I like the way ink blended the edges gives more dimension to an element.

On the opposite side of the chevron cardstock there was a plaid pattern. I used this cardstock to cut the candle. The flame was cut from gold glitter cardstock. The cupcake was stamped with a sentiment and frosting swirls were cut from brown cardstock and adhered above the sentiment with liquid glue. The candle was adhered in place with liquid glue and then the frosting was glue in place.

A panel of ivory cardstock was cut with a stitched rectangle die and matted with an orange cardstock. It was dry embossed with an argyle folder to add visual interest behind the focal image. Foam tape was added to the back and it was adhered to a top folding heavy weight ivory cardstock.

The cupcake was placed on the panel to determine where to adhere the sentiment. The cupcake liner pocket was adhered to the embossed panel with double-sided tape on the flaps and the cupcake was tucked inside. The word "pull" was stamped on the top of the cupcake liner.
