Have a Boot Scootin’ Boogie Birthday

I've been on a cowboy kick lately. I saw these cute little dies on Amazon and decided to give them a try. I think they turned out really cute.

I cut them from Kraft cardstock . For the boots I ink blended the edges with brown inks and used Copic Markers on the details of the boots. The hand was ink blended with the darkest brown ink and then the details were highlighted with Copic Markers as well. For the horseshoe, I used VersaMark Ink to cover the die and then heat embossed silver embossing powder. I gave it two layers for a smooth finish.

I placed the horseshoe on one of the boots and the hat on another. Low loft foam tape was added to the back for some dimension.

I printed the sentiment onto some Kraft cardstock and then used one my new Spellbinder's Essential Oval dies to cut it out. The edges were ink blended with brown ink. I decided to cut a larger oval and color the edges with the darkest Copic Marker and adhered the two together with liquid glue, which give a little play time to make sure they line up right. Low loft foam tape was added to the back for dimension.

The die cut elements were adhered in place by removing the backing on the foam tape. I used Kraft cardstock for the cardbase, but I didn't like the way it looked, so embossed the front with a woodgrain embossing folder and destressed it with a couple of brown inks. The focal image oval was adhered in place by removing the backing paper on the foam tape.
