Have a Beautiful Birthday Rachel

One of my sweet young friends from church is having her 17th birthday next week. She's a lovely young lady with long blonde hair and her favorite color is green, so that is the color scheme used on this card.

I printed the image from Polka Doodles onto 80# Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock with my laser printer. Dry ink in a laser printer does not bleed when coloring with Copic Markers. I printed it from the Silhouette Software with registration marks so that it would could out the image when the coloring was complete.

I went through my patterned paper looking for something that was green and settled on this great polka dot paper from My Favorite Things. It was cut down with a Lawn Fawn Stitched Stackable Die that would cover the entire front of a top folding card. it was adhered to the cardbase with dotliner adhesive.

The image needed to have a neutral background so that it wouldn't get lost on the patterned paper. A scalloped oval was cut from white cardstock and the image was laid in place to determine where to stamp the sentiment using Distress Oxide Twisted Citron Ink.

The oval was adhered to the patterned paper cardbase with Simon Says Stamp Big Mama Foam Tape. It was also used to give a little dimension to the girl image. The final embellishments was to added a few strips to the party had with a white gel pen and to add Ranger Crystal Stickles to the balloon, frosting, and the center of the flowers.
