There are a couple of the young women at who had a birthday in the last couple of weeks. I also find out what their favorite color it and use it to create their birthday card. I also try to find an image that looks similar to their hair length and style. This card is for Corinna, whose favorite color is yellow.
This is a digi image from La-La Land Craft. I like digi images because you can make them any size you want. I print them on Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock because it isn't too heavy to go through my laser printer. Don't use an ink jet printer, the lines will bleed when colored with Copic Markers.
I colored the image in various shades of yellow and then cut the panel down using a scalloped rectangle. Yellow Nuvo Chrystal Drops were added to the dots on the cake and dots on the top of the dress were added with a darker yellow marker. Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen was added to the frosting on the cake.
A larger scalloped rectangle was cut from yellow cardstock, which was adhered to a top folding cardbase with dotliner adhesive. Simon Says Stamp Big Mama Foam Tape was added to the back of the focal image which was adhered on the yellow rectangle.
The sentiment was stamped on a scrap of yellow cardstock and cut out with a scalloped circle die. It was adhered in the lower right of the card with a combination of liquid glue and foam tape. A little flower was created at the bottom of the sentiment with Nuvo Crystal Drops.
