There are a couple of the young women at who had a birthday in the last couple of weeks. I also find out what their favorite color it and use it to create their birthday card. I also try to find an image that looks similar to their hair length and style. This card is for Veronica whose favorite colors are pink and light turquoise.
This is a digi image from La-La Land Craft. I like digi images because you can make them any size you want. I print them on Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock because it isn't too heavy to go through my laser printer. Don't use an ink jet printer, the lines will bleed when colored with Copic Markers.
I printed image using registration marks in the Silhouette Cameo Software so that it could cut out the image. I've learned to cut it first, just in case there is a problem with cutting, before coloring with Copics.
I accented the top on this image with small die cut pink glitter hearts. A small flower was also added to the headband. A small heart was cut from the glitter cardstock to cover the balloon the image is holding. The same glitter cardstock was used to die cut the word "Happy." The word was also cut from sticky back foam. I traced around the image onto some sticky back foam and cut it out smaller to add it to the back of the image for a little dimension. The turquoise Copic Markers were used on a scrap of cardstock and the secondary greeting was stamped with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed white. It was cut out with a sentiment banner.
To assembled the card a scalloped rectangle of turquoise polka dot paper was cut out and then adhered to a top folding pink cardbase. The image and sentiment were added by adding liquid glue to the foam tape.
