My husband turns 72 in a couple of days. Hard to believe the years are flying by so quickly. He is the best husband in the world. I have been in a lot of pain lately with my hip and he has stepped up and done most of the work around the house. He supports me in all my endeavors, he is smart and funny, he loves the Lord and strives to make our marriage an eternal union. He is truly the most amazing man I know.
Michael loves blue. I had some leftover scraps of blue cardstock lying around and decided to make a shaker card. I cut the frame of the shaker balloon seven times from light blue cardstock and once from silver holographic. I traced around the frame to cut a blue patterned paper backing and also the acetate for the shaker element. Six of the frames were adhered together with liquid glue. The acetate was adhered to the back of the seventh, which was then adhered to the other six. At the end I decided to cut a frame from the silver holographic cardstock.
This shaker dies has some small elements to add to the shaker of the balloon, small present, streamers, and stars. They were cut from silver holographic and midnight blue mirror cardstock and carefully place in the shaker well so the right side of the mirror cardstock would be seen. Lucy's Little Things Twilight Mix Sequins and Mikuki Seed Beads in Light Sapphire were also added to the well and then the backing paper was adhered in place with liquid glue.
A panel of white cardstock was cut down using a stitched rectangle die. It was then dry embossed with the Darice Happy Birthday Embossing Folder. The edges were ink blended with Distress Oxide Prize Ribbon Ink and the panel was adhered to the front of an A2 top folding cardbase.
I had the center of the frame left over and decided to use on the light blue and silver holographic to create two balloons that I could add Michael age to, which was cut from Midnight Blue Mirror Cardstock and adhered in place with liquid glue. Two smaller balloons were cut from the blue mirror cardstock. Silver cord was tied and taped to the bottom of the balloon. The balloons were adhered in place with liquid glue to the embossed panel and the strings were pulled around the panel and adhered in place with scotch tape. Doubled-sided tape was used to adhered the embossed panel to the card base.
