My wonderful husband has a birthday the end of October. His favorite color is blue, so I went to my stash of glitter cardstock and found three different shades of blue. I used the new Simon Says Stamp Happy Birthday die that came with the September Card Kit of the Month and cut it from each color of cardstock. I also cut it from white sticky back foam and adhered the two together by removing the backing paper.
I cut a panel of white cardstock with a stitched rectangle die and dry embossed it using the Stampin' Up Textile embossing folder. I added a blue glitter border to the rectangle and adhered it to a top folding A2 cardbase.
I adhered the words "happy birthday" on an angle at the bottom right of the panel, using my T-Square ruler to ensure it was straight. Each line of the die cut was off set just a little. The excess was then cut off with scissors. I should have waited a little long for the words to be completely dry, they moved just a little when cutting off the excess.
I wanted to add some visual interest to the card and cut the Simon Says Stamp Balloon Bouquet three times from different colored cardstock and adhered them in the upper left of the card with liquid glue, using one color of blue for the strings and the other two for the center of the balloon. It was just what the card needed.
