Happy Birthday Old Friend

This is another masculine birthday card using one of the images from My Favorite Things BB Festive Old Friends.

The image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with Copic Markers. A white gel pen was used to add some details to the sweater vest. It was also used to add polka dots to the balloon. The image was cutout using the coordinating die and foam tape was added to the back.

This is a smaller image so I wanted to ground it on the front of the card. An oval frame was cut from a navy blue cardstock. Foam strips were added to the back. A panel of blue plaid patterned paper was cut down with a stitched rectangle die. The panel that the oval frame was cut from was added to the back for a thin navy blue background to the plaid paper. They were adhered together with dotliner adhesive and then adhered to a top folding cardbase with the same adhesive.

The sentiment was cut from the same navy cardstock. The bottom edges were ink blended with a darker blue to add a little visual interest and dimesnion. Small pieces of foam strips were added to the back of the sentiment.

The oval and the sentiment were laid on the plaid patterned card front to determine placement. The backing paper was removed from the foam and they were adhered in place.

Foam strips were added to the back of the image, which was adhered in the center of the oval. Glossy accents were added to the balloon.

I decided I wanted to have a secondary greeting that said "old friend" but I didn't have a stamp with that sentiment, so I created it in Microsoft Word, printed it, and then cut it out with a sentimetn label die. It was adhered over the die cut sentiment with liquid glue.
