Happy Birthday Cupcake Trio

I recently saw Tina Smith use this cupcake die to create a card with three cupcakes. She used bright primary colors, but I wanted a more masculine look.

I went through my patterned paper and decided on the Peebles Front Port Paper Pad and selected three different blue papers. The cupcake liners were cut from these papers. As Tina demonstrated you don't have to create a cupcake pocket. You simply cut the liner where the core marks are and then you have a simple liner. The cake portion of the cupcake was cut from ivory cardstock and then ink blended on the edges with Distress Oxide Antique Linen Ink. The frosting was cut from a scrap of dark brown cardstock and adhered to the cake portion of the cupcake with liquid glue. The little swirls on the liner were also cut from ivory cardstock and adhered with liquid glue. Simon Says Stamp Big Mama Foam Tape was added to the back of the liner and then there were adhered to the cake and frosting die cut.

A rectangle of Kraft cardstock was cut with a stitched rectangle die and dry embossed with the Cuttlebug Happy Birthday Embossing Folder. Distress Walnut Stain was ink blended to the edges of the rectangle, as well as lightly over the raised letters on the embossing.

The sentiment was cut from dark brown cardstock, as well as some Kraft colored sticky back foam and the two were adhered together by removing the backer lining on the foam tape. The sentiment was hen adhered at the bottom of the rectangle with liquid glue.

The back cupcake was adhere din place with liquid glue. The top two cupcake were adhered using Simon Says Stamp Big Mama Foam Tape.

Ranger Glossy Accents were added to the frosting and sentiment. The final embellishment was to add some Spellbinders Sweet Sprinkles to the frosting and the card was done.
