Every Tuesday at the end of the month Craft Warehouse has a 25% off sale. This month I purchased this lovely flower die from Sizzix designs by Sophie Guilar. I decided to use my new die to create a birthday card for my baby sister who is turning the big 60. The color used for the flowers is her favorite.
I cut the layers of the flowers and leaves from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock and then colored them with Copic Markers. These flowers and leaves only have two layers, so they are pretty easy to assemble, but they made a lovely design.
For the center of the flowers I decided to use some holographic cardstock from Lawn Fawn. I didn't like the center for the large flower. I felt it was too small for the image, so I cut it twice, trimmed a little off one of the centers for the large flower and added the leftover from the flower center for the smaller flower and liked it much better.
A stitched scalloped rectangle was cut from white cardstock and embossed with the Stampin' Up Subtle Embossing Folder, which is one of my favorites. It gives a beautiful linen look. The flowers and leaves were laid in place to determine the design. The leaves were then glued to the scalloped rectangle with liquid glue. The smaller flower was adhered with one layer of Simon Says Stamp Big Mama Foam Tape and the largest flower with a double layer of foam tape.
The die cut sentiment was cut from the same holographic cardstock and adhered in the lower right of the scalloped rectangle. A secondary sentiment was stamped onto a scrap of cardstock that was colored using the same Copic Markers as the flowers. It was cut into a banner using a Pink & Main Sentiment Strip and adhered over the die cut happy with liquid glue.
